Tetris
Tetris was originally created in the early 1980's by a Russian game designer and was the first entertainment software to be exported from the Soviet Union to the US. When released in the US the game was available on the Commodore 64 and IBM PC but was soon available on almost every platform including the handheld version for the Game Boy launched in 1989 that established the game as one of the most popular. Tetris was awarded first place as "Greatest Game of All Time" in Electronic Gaming Monthly's 100th issue in 1989.
