Originally released in 1982, Joust is a platform based game that inspired several other classic arcade games. Soon after its arcade debut, the home console licensing rights were purchased by Atari. Joust was ported to the Atari 2600, 6200, 7800, ST, 8-niy and Lynx. Ports for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were also developed in more recent years.

Gameplay: The numbers of levels featured in Joust are infinite. Players take the role of an armor-clad knight as he rides on the back of a flying ostrich. Enemies consist of hunters, bounders and shadow lords. These opponents are also knights that fly on various winged creatures. The numbers of levels featured in Joust are infinite.

Per manufaturer: The Joust Arcade Classics #8 Electronic Game looks, sounds and plays just like you remember. (Please see information below for more helpful info about game play, based on our personal review and opinions  about the Arcade Classics brand games) Maneuver your knight on his flying ostrich to avoid and skewer enemy knights, before they get you! Collect eggs to earn points. Joystick and fly buttons work just like the original.
3 AA batteries included.

*Although the manufacter description says the Arcade Classics games look, sounds and plays just like you remember, these games are more appropriate as a display item or retro collectable than as a toy or game, in our opinion. If you are looking for an original arcade game play experience, the Arcade Classics versions of the old school arcade games really are not your best option, instead you may wish to check out our Dreamgear "My Arcade" Micro Player versions). We love all things retro and a handheld size arcade cabinet with art from your favorite 1970's and 1980's arcade games are a great way to create a truly retro decor style. Dedicate a couple of wall shelves or even a few shelves on a bookcase for displaying miniature acrade cabinet replica electronic games. You will love how these "old school" games give your living space that feeling of nostalgia that will truly take you back to your childhood.
