Originally released in 1982, Q*Bert is a 2-D action-packed game that incorporates puzzle-like elements and gameplay that give it a 3-D effect.

The goal of the game is to move Q*bert quickly from cube to cube using the joystick without getting caught by the bad guys, Slick and Coily. As Q*bert moves, each cube's color changes. Points are earned based on how many color changes you can get. In Q*bert you want to hop quickly from cube to cube without getting caught by the bad guys, such as Coily, Slick, Sam, Ugg and Wrongway. Hit a green enemy and it's immediately removed from the board. Hit a purple enemy and you're dead. Hop on the cubes to change their colors, ride the flying disc to escape the enemies and catch the magic ball to freeze the bad guys.

The Arcade Classics Q*bert handheld arcade game features crisp color graphics, a joystick for movement and a push button just like the original machine. It even looks like an arcade cabinet, with game art just like the Q*Bert arcade cabinet you remember from the 80's. (Please see information below for more helpful info about game play, based on our personal review and opinions about the Arcade Classics brand games)

*Although the manufacter description says the Arcade Classics games look, sounds and plays just like you remember, these games are more appropriate as a display item or retro collectable than as a toy or game, in our opinion. If you are looking for an original arcade game play experience, the Arcade Classics versions of the old school arcade games really are not your best option, instead you may wish to check out our Dreamgear "My Arcade" Micro Player versions). We love all things retro and a handheld size arcade cabinet with art from your favorite 1970's and 1980's arcade games are a great way to create a truly retro decor style. Dedicate a couple of wall shelves or even a few shelves on a bookcase for displaying miniature acrade cabinet replica electronic games. You will love how these "old school" games give your living space that feeling of nostalgia that will truly take you back to your childhood.
